The process and all the info you need before booking your session
Here at Robinson Creative my family photography style is fun, heartfelt and all about your family. Family photography sessions are for families with children 12 months plus. Sessions can be held in my studio or outdoors. I keep colours natural, moments spontaneous and genuine.
I understand the thought of organising family photos is tough (mum of 3 here), will your kids behave? What will everyone wear? What happens if the kids are tired, cranky? Let me make the experience of capturing your families photos a joy, creating the most precious memories. I have all the info you will need on how to ensure everyone arrives at your session ready to go and leave the creating magic part to me!
Only when you look back on this time will you realise just how fleeting these moments are. So sit back and relax knowing that your family photography experience will be easy and fun.
My 5 step process has been created so you know exactly what happens next, from your initial inquiry through to collecting your images and wall art.

Step 1
Once you have read all about me, your Redlands, Brisbane Family Photographer, drop me a line and ask all those tricky questions (I know you have them and I am here to help!).
Once you decide you want to work with me it's time to book in.
Complete the contact form or call me on 0421 912 680 to see if I have availability.
Once I confirm this, a session fee is required to secure your session.
Step 2
Once you have booked in, it's best to decide whether you would like studio images or an outdoor sunset session.. Both are available and create stunning family images. We can discuss what will work best for your family.
After we have confirmed your session date I will send through all the info on how to prepare your family for the session, what you need to bring and we can discuss what you would like to wear.
A few days before your session I will give you a call to answer any last minute questions you may have, have a chat about styling, what sort of images you love and would like displayed in your home.
Step 3
Yipee!! Whether we are shooting in my gorgeous Wellington Point studio or outdoors I promise today will be fun! I can give you as much direction in front of my camera as you need to feel comfortable and fabulous. Leave the kids to me, I get to hype them up, play silly games and create chaos!
Your session includes photos with parents + kids + individuals of the kids. Don't worry I have all the combinations worked out with a mix of smile and look at the camera shots that will keep grandparents happy and beautiful candid moments which will tell the story of your family.
Grandparents and well behaved fur babies are welcome but please let me know at our pre-session consultation so I can plan your session.
Step 4
For studio sessions, as soon as we have finished taking your family images and creating magic we move through to the really exciting part, viewing your images! You will be able to relax and view your images on my cinema screen and I will be there every step of the way, guiding you through the selection process.
For outdoor sunset shoots, I ask you pop into my studio a week later to view your images. I know with little people it is getting late after the session and they need to head home to bed. For your viewing session I ask everyone be there to help choose your images.
It's really helpful for you have had a think about how and where you would like to display your images. I can step you through all your different options for printing. Everyone has a wall in their home begging for some family photo goodness!
Step 5
When your images, albums and wall art are ready I will get in touch to make a time for you to collect.
I love seeing the excitement when clients collect their wall art and albums (it always feels a bit like Christmas). I know how much I treasure photos of my own family around my home and I am grateful that clients can as well!

I want you to look at your images in 10 years time and feel a tug in your heart at just how much fun you had and how much your kids have grown. I am mum of 3 myself and have created a photography experience that is all about capturing timeless images while providing an amazing service.
I like to show you all the photos taken during your session so you can choose your favourites rather than sending you a small selection of my favourites and hoping you like them. You leave your session knowing exactly what images you have chosen and excited to see them in print for your wall.
WHERE WILL MY FAMILY SESSION BE?
Family sessions are held in my studio in Wellington Point, Brisbane and on location. My studio is the perfect space for families, the light is delicious, it is cozy and I have EVERYTHING needed for your family photography session here in my studio. The studio is open Monday to Friday (and Saturday morning by special appointment).
Outdoor sessions are can be held anywhere you would like. If you are wanting suggestions on fab locations, I have a selection of favourite spots around Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY SESSION?
I recommend booking in as soon as you decide you would like to work with me. I photograph a limited number of families each month so I can guarantee exceptional service through out the family session process.
SHOULD I WAIT FOR MY CHILD"S NEXT MILESTONE?
Looking for a reason to book your family photos? How about there is no time like right now! Missing front teeth? Great! Just turned 5? Awesome! It's been 3 years since your last family photo session? Lets get you booked in! Why wait for the next big thing? Right now is pretty precious, its going to be gone in the blink of an eye. I think right now is perfect!
WHO IS INCLUDED IN A FAMILY SESSION?
Everyone is welcome at your family session. Grandparents wanting to come? Great, I just ask you let me know prior to your session. Families are truly my favourite to photograph so please don't worry, my toddler/busy child wrangling skills are "ninja level".
WHAT DO WE WEAR TO A SESSION?
My images are light and airy, so whites, pastels, plain lighter colours look great. Please avoid logos or writing as this can be super distracting, the focus on your image should be your eyes and expression not your brand. I suggest to families to lay everyone's clothes out on a bed and make sure everyone coordinates. Say no to the matching white polo's, its about coordinating rather than matching. I find shopping for everyone in the same shop can make things easy. Also if you have a toddler in tow, please bring a change (just in case).
HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION LAST FOR?
I ask families to set aside 1-1.5 hours for your family session. All families are different. Often with little people it can help to stop part way through your session for a snack and quick drink. This acts as a reset and they are good to go after. I work very quickly so please don't panic if you don't think I am getting the photos you are after, you will be surprised by the variety of images at your viewing session.
ARE YOU IMMUNISED?
Yes I am fully immunised against Whooping Cough, Covid19 and annually for Influenza.
CAN I ORDER PRINTS AND ALBUMS FROM YOU?
You sure can! I can step you through the process of choosing the right image at the right size in the right finish to fit seamlessly into your home. What is better than displaying your family photos as art?
CAN WE PURCHASE THE DIGITAL FILES?
Sure can. all my packages include your digital files so you can print/love/share.
